Desktop Computers
In today's workplace, desktop computers are used as a tool to communicate with a company’s information systems. Without up-to-date hardware and software, using a desktop becomes a burden and can limit productivity in the workplace. We use cutting edge technologies and have knowledge of current and future business desktop technologies.
We are experienced with Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Mac OSX. Maintenance we provide are as follows:
- Virus/Spyware Removal and Prevention
If your computer is connected to the Internet, antivirus software is a must. We recommend using a program called AVG written by Grisoft. Frequent scans and updates must be scheduled in order for the antivirus software to function properly and protect your information.
If a virus gets past your security, the virus must be removed quickly before it spreads throughout the computer and the rest of your network. We have advanced techniques to remove viruses and other malicious software (malware/spyware).
- Hard drive replication, backup or replacement
Computers store documents and programs on the hard drive. Hard drives fail because they have parts moving at very high speeds and are susceptible to movement and extreme environmental changes. Unfortunately when this happens your documents and programs are lost. We recommend backing up important documents to an external hard drive in order to minimize data loss. Keeping your computer cool and dry can increase the life expectancy of a hard drive.
- Memory Upgrade
RAM or Random Access Memory provides very fast short-term memory for your computer. The more RAM within your computer, the faster your programs will execute. Increasing memory is an inexpensive way to increase performance and revitalize a tired computer. If your computer is running slow ask us if more memory may be a solution.
- Desktop Purchasing and Sales
Purchasing a computer can be confusing at best to the average user. Technology is constantly changing and it can be difficult to know what is most important when trying to stretch your budget. Let us do the research for you so you don't get stuck with an overpriced underpowered machine. Whether you are purchasing a single computer for your desk or a fleet of computers for your complete office, give us a call before you buy.
